If you are interested in becoming a foster family, there are some words that you need to know in order to follow the procedures.
Foster Care: Temporary placement of a child when a parent or guardian cannot take care of the child.
Client Supervisor: This person oversees the caseworkers file on the foster family.
County Agency: The Child and Youth Social Service Agency that handles the foster care system in your community.
Demerits: These are almost like in schools; these are behavior marks against non-academic activities.
Facility: A location or place where the Department of Welfare operates.
FFCA: the abbreviation for Foster Family Care Agency
Host Parent/Host Family: This is the family that the foster child will be staying with.
Mental/Emotional Abuse: The injury to the psyche that allows someone to believe they are worthless.
MH: Abbreviation for Mental Health
MR: Abbreviation for Mental Retardation
Minor Child: A child who is under the age of 18
Noxious Substance: Any type of substance that can be used in the form of abuse.
Physical Abuse: Injury to the body
